Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
Welcome to GigHub ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the application, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when you participate in activities on the application, or otherwise when you contact us.
The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the application, the choices you make, and the products and features you use.
2. Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance
GigHub's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Google User Data We Collect: When you connect your Google Account to GigHub, we collect and process the following categories of personal data from your Google account via the read-only
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonlyscope:- Your Google Account email address (to identify and associate your account).
- The list of calendars in your account (to allow you to select which calendars to integrate).
- Calendar event details (specifically, Google event IDs, event titles/summaries, start/end dates, description, and status).
- How We Use Google User Data: We will use your data to provide you with the services you requested. Specifically, we use this access solely to show your availability and synchronize your calendar events within the GigHub scheduler, allowing you and your team members to manage schedules and avoid conflicts.
- Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Google User Data: We do not sell your Google user data to third parties, nor do we transfer or disclose your information to third parties for purposes other than the ones provided. We do not share this data with third parties for serving personalized, re-targeted, or interest-based advertisements, training AI models, or any other commercial purposes.
- Google User Data Protection: Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. We use encryption to protect your information. Your Google OAuth credentials (specifically, the refresh token) are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption, and all communication with Google APIs is secured via SSL/TLS.
- Limited Use: Our application strictly limits the use of Google user data to providing or improving user-facing features that are prominent in the requesting application's user interface.
3. Google User Data Retention and Deletion
We are committed to GDPR compliance and follow strict data minimization and retention policies:
- Data Retention: We will retain your personal information for the length of time needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- On-Demand Fetching: To minimize storage of your data, calendar events from your connected Google Calendar are fetched dynamically in real-time on demand. We do not cache or store these events permanently on our servers.
- Exceptions (Away Days): When you explicitly choose to import a specific event from your connected calendar to mark an "Away Day" in your schedule, we store only the minimal metadata from that event: the external event ID, provider name ("google"), start and end dates, and the title/summary (saved in the notes field for your reference).
- Data Deletion: When the data retention period expires for a given type of data, or when you request deletion, we will delete or destroy it.
- Disconnecting: You may request for your data to be deleted by disconnecting your Google Account from your Settings > Calendar tab in GigHub. Disconnecting will immediately and permanently delete your encrypted refresh token, selected calendar preferences, and queued synchronization actions from our servers. In addition, any previously imported "Away Days" will be completely unlinked from Google (permanently deleting the Google event ID and provider association, leaving them only as manual availability records in GigHub).
- Account Deletion: You may request complete account erasure at any time directly through the Settings page. This will permanently delete your user profile, encrypted credentials, connected accounts, and all scheduler data (teams, acts, events, and responses) from our databases.
- Google Settings: You can also revoke GigHub's access to your Google Account at any time via the Google Security Permissions page.

- Vital Interests and Legal Rights: We may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person and illegal activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
